Full-Time Custodial Position
Department: Emmet County General Services
Report To: Emmet County Board of Supervisors
General Job Summary:
This is a Full-Time position under the direction of the Emmet County Board of Supervisors and Emmet County Auditor.
Primary duties are to perform routine custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and cleaning walls, floors, carpets, equipment, etc.
Responsible for grounds pick-up, lawn care and snow removal.
Work with cleaning equipment and supplies.
Job duties may be performed at all Emmet County buildings or facilities.
Occasional holiday, evening and weekend work required, mostly weather related.
This is an "essential" position and will require the employee to work during periods of adverse weather.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or willingness to obtain equivalency required. Experience as a custodian or housekeeper preferred.

The Emmet County Engineer's Office is currently accepting applications for a Road Maintenance Supervisor.
DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:
Directs Secondary Roads Staff on routine road, tile, culvert and right of way maintenance. Receives and understands written and oral
instructions. Leads winter maintenance activities, including checking roads.

The Emmet County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for one full-time jailer, one full-time Dispatch Operator and one part-time combination Jailer/ Dispatch Operator.
The part-time Jailer/Dispatch Operator will be a shared position between the Emmet County Jail and Emmet County Communications Center with the possibility of full-time employment. Full time employment benefits include: paid vacation, holiday pay, health insurance, life insurance, sick leave and an IPERS retirement program.
Duties include but are not limited to: the care, supervision and transportation of county jail prisoners as well as performing the duties of a telecommunicator.
A qualified employee must possess a high school diploma or GED, have the ability to earn and maintain certifications as required by law and department policy, have the ability to read at close range and at distances, have normal color vision, hearing within normal range, the ability to multi-task, be able to operate computer systems and other office equipment and have the ability to report to work on short notice.
Additionally a successful employee must have a safe driving record, be able to pass a background check, pre-employment physical, drug screen, interview and MMPI. The starting wage is $16.50 per hour with step increases.
