The Emmet County Sheriff's office is now taking applications for the position of Deputy Sheriff.

Starting salary is $45,000 per year with step increases, paid vacation, holidays, sick benefits and paid employee health insurance. A successful applicant will need to be able to achieve and maintain necessary certifications as required by the Emmet County Sheriff's Office, report to work on short notice and be available to work different shift schedules as needed including nights, days, weekends and holidays. A high school diploma or GED is required as well as a safe driving record.

Lateral transfer of current Iowa certified officers wil l be accepted. All other applicants will be required to undergo a Civil Service Examination " Post test" (Police Officer Selection Test) and physical agility test. Top qualifiers must undergo a background investigation, psychological examination as well as other pre-employment testing.

POSITION: Maternal, Child & Adolescent Health Nurse

DEPT / OFFICE: Emmet County Public Health



TYPICAL HOURS / SCHEDULE: 32 hours per week


This position requires current RN licensure. Job responsibilities will include establishing relationships with local public health partners with a 6 county service area (Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Osceola, O'Brien, and Palo Alto). Build off existing programs for mom and child including developmental screenings, lead screening and testing, skilled nursing assessments and home visitation, oral health screenings, education and home visitation services to pregnant women. RN will also work to develop and build partnerships with local primary care providers and other community partners supporting healthy development for all children and adolescents birth to 18 years of age as well as expecting mothers. Must have excellent communication skills. Experience in community planning and writing work plans / reports also preferred. A valid Iowa driver's license and proof of insurance is required.
